Marriage and family life is made especially for children and for young people of all ages. Sadly, too many start out in life in many of our cities like Detroit, Flint, Chicago, and Baltimore, with serious adversities and disadvantages, which may make home life challenging, painful, and often a place of sadness. Hope still abounds, especially when peers are mobilized to help one another traverse those hurdles and see the goodness in the midst of it all.
Through peer-to-peer mentoring, Life Directions offers underperforming, at-risk young students in Detroit, from junior high to age 18, the opportunity to recognize their gifts, overcome obstacles, and redirect their lives.
With help from their peers at school, students eschew self-defeating behavior and experience the joy of achievement and success.
Life Directions has helped to transform the lives of over 160,000 youths since its founding in Detroit just over 40 years ago.
Please invest yourself and donate to Life Directions so it can reach even more Detroit students who need a hand up and the support of peers who understand and care to help.
